Summer Soundtracks

After doing a couple of singles between the R&S and Apollo imprints, Cloud Boat drop a lush, introspective and otherworldly indie-electro vibe with this debut full-length on LP (which comes with a free CD) and MP3 titled ‘Book Of Hours’. This is the latest Sunday soundtrack. But you don’t have to take my word for it.
We’ll step it up a notch to the deeper sub-bass house and techno grooves on this debut by sometimes-Sasha-sidekick James Teej who unleashes a quiet storm of a debut album in ‘Eight Bit Ocean’ on the former’s Last Night On Earth label, which has been hittin’ that stride as of late. This is the new frontier of what’s going on in the tech vs. house thing. I think they’re doing a 4-track EP, 9-track CD and MP3 release on this but really, the CD was cheaper than the download on Beatport so score the cover art and get de real ting. And no, I’m not linking to Beatport.
And finally, what roundup would be complete without a shout-out to the krauts in Deutschland? Der Dritte Raum or The Third Room have beeen rockin’ it in the trance, minimal and techno world for the last 20+ years, it only seems fitting that their new album ‘Morgenland’ (which has come out as a 4-track EP and a 13-cut CD and MP3 – the CD being the best value) contains their best-known signature funky techno style. Check out what they do on their SoundCloud page.
