Now that the weather’s warming up, I can share two recent sizzlers from Plastic City. The first single, from Spaniards Oscar Barila & Maiki is a preview of their new album ‘Parallell Minds’ which hits 4/20 last I saw. All three of these are heavy on groove. Although ‘Behind The Line’ is the star here, ‘Heartbreak’ offers some 303-stylee that goes a long way. 7/10
Next up is a 3-tracker from Italian Mr. Cenzo. ‘New Horizons’ creeps up at 120 bpm and lays down some warm synth stabs throughout. ‘Zap Attack’ and ‘Catching My Soul’ get multi-dimensional with their well-placed samples, bluesy keyboards and a lot of percussion. Just right for right now. 7/10
