The Doorn Identity

Yep, his sophomore artist album is out now. Probably the most forward thinking DJ in big room club music these days, Sander‘s CD is an abbreviated journey of the year 2011. You can get the unmixed, extended versions as a Beatport exclusive (minus Track 12, which you should have already downloaded for free off Facebook by now and if you haven’t, it’s on the CD). The only true anthem of Summer 2011, ‘Koko’ is on here, along with current DMC #1 ‘Drink To Get Drunk’ and Dusk Till Doorn-favorite ‘Love Is Darkness’. There’s also your du jour cameos courtesy of “that chick who sang on IIO’s ‘Rapture'” and the Pete Best of Swedish House Mafia, Laidback Luke, among others. While the guests are OK by me, I’m not really too excited to see another big name jock do an album with a smattering of cameos. Plus, I was a little disappointed with how 2008’s ‘Supernaturalistic’ played out on CD and this seems to repeat that. To sit out all those 3 minute edits. I’ll snap up a download and wait for BestBuy to bring this puppy in for $10 on Ultra. – Eden Alison
